The Dan Alhaji Foundation has called on the Local and international community as well as other Non Goverment Organizations (NGOs) to come to the help of the displaced persons in Batsari Local Government Area of Katsina State.
According to the foundation, the insecurity ravaging Batsari LGA has made it inposible for people to go to farm.
Addressing journalists at the Unity Fountain in Abuja during a protest, Legal Adviser of the Lawal Dan Alhaji Foundation, Emeka Nwachukwu, said the peaceful protest was to call on the Federal goverment as well as other Nigerians, NGOs and the international communities to come for the aid of Batsari people.
The foundation said the immidiate need of the people is health care services and foood.
While calling on the government to still do more to protects the lives and property of its citizens, the foundation said the residents have deserted their homes adding that women and children are molested by the bandits.
“We urged both local and the international organisation to assist the victims of rape and insurgency in Batsari local government. The people need food, drugs and other relevant materials.

“Those bandits, when they killed, the members of the families including women and children are left to suffer, ” he said.Â

Also speaking, Aminu Alqasim, who shared his recent experience in Batsari LGA, said many people have runaway from their farms.Â

“People living in that community are not business oriented, they are farmers. Now they can’t access their farms as a result of the bandits attacks. People in Batsari are afraid to talk about what is going on their. If they do, they are visited with more terror by the bandits, ” Aminu said.
