Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed says his administration will hold public parley with the view addressing “the deluge of complaints on challenges associated with management and payment of salaries to Civil Servants.”
A press statement by the Governor’s, media aide Mukhtar Gidado said the public parley was a demonstration of Governor Bala’s “leadership style and in the spirit of deepening stake-holding in governance.”
“His Excellency Sen. Bala A. Mohammed CON ( Kauran Bauchi ) the Executive Governor of Bauchi State will hold a public parley with stakeholders in the payment of salaries and pensions as part of his renewed strategy of tackling corrupt practices in the operation and management of the payroll.
“The Public Parley has become necessary in view of the ongoing insinuations among members of the public including the social media users in respect of payment of salaries in the State”, the statement read in part.
The parley according to the statement was to offer the Governor an opportunity to interact physically with relevant stakeholders with a view to getting to the root of the whole matter “and to bring to an end all fraudulent activities in the management of the payroll system.”
The statement says the public parley will be transmitted live on all the Radio stations in the state and would be attended by members of the State Executive Council, officials from the Ministry of Finance, office of the Accountant General, Chairman of the BVN Verification Committee, DYNATECH Consultants and Cabinet Committee on Payroll.
Other stakeholders to attend the parley include leaders of the organised Private Sector, the leadership of the Labour Unions, Civil Society Organizations as well as the leadership of Political Parties.
The parley according to the statement will be held on Thursday, 10th September, 2020 by 10:00am at the Command Guest House, Bauchi.
