Bauchi State governor, Mohammed Abubakar yesterday swore-in the new Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Mahammadu Nadada Umar.
Speaking after administering the oath of allegiance and oath of office, Governor Abubakar said that following the dissolution of the state executive council, it was pertinent to appoint a new secretary to the state government to avoid creating a vaccum in the state government machinery.
According to him, the changes in his cabinet is necessary in order to enable the government execute projects earmarked in different parts of the state.
“We all know the enormous responsibilities placed in the office of the secretary to the state government from 1999 to 2006. During these period, Nadada was adjudged to be loyal, hardworking, honest, sincere and discharged the duties of his office diligently and effectively.
“While congratulating you on this appointment, you should know that a lot is expected from you, considering your past record in that capacity. Your reappointment to this position is therefore a clear testimony of the confidence and trust we repose in you,” he said.
He reiterated the determination of his administration to bring positive changes to the lives of the people. The governor said measures were taken by the government to sanitize the system and ensure prudent management of resources.
