Gov Aliyu Advocates Clean Sokoto Metropolis

Governor Sokoto State, Ahmed Aliyu, has asserted that no city can truly live up to its name, if it remains in a state of filth.

He made this assertion while presenting the keys of nine brand-new refuse collection vehicles to the managing D

director of Biofil-Technology Nigeria Limited, Mr. Ibukun Taiwo.

The company has been contracted to ensure the cleanliness of the Sokoto Metropolis.

Aliyu also stated that a clean environment goes a long way in ensuring a healthy society.

The governor, who was represented by his deputy, explained that it is on this basis that the state government is determined to ensure the beautification and cleanliness of the Metropolis.

He noted that the new refuse collection vehicles are in addition to the eleven existing ones to be managed by the company for evacuation exercises.

The governor further disclosed that the company has also been provided with sanitation materials, which include cleaning kits, household dustbins, and safety gear.

He therefore expressed hope that the company will swing into action towards achieving the set objectives.

In his response, the managing director of the company, Mr. Ibukun Taiwo, pledged the company’s readiness to make the best use of the vehicles and sanitation materials provided.
