Adamawa State governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has commiserated with the people of the state, and chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Tahir Shehu over the death of his mother, Hajiya Hadiza Haruna who died on Wednesday in Jada after a brief illness at the age of 90.
He prayed Allah to grant the PDP state chairman the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss and to comfort the entire family.
“Mama lived a life of honesty and service to her community and mankind,” he said.
He commended her efforts at bringing up children who would later become responsible citizens of the state and nation.
“I am happy that Mama taught you and your other siblings the fear of the Lord, promoting good heritage and moral values”, he added.
The governor who attended the funeral in Jada yesterday, expressed shock over the demise of the late Hajiya Hadiza and urged the family to be comforted by the fact that their late matriarch will be remembered for promoting good neighbourliness and love for all irrespective of different beliefs.
Governor Fintiri described the late Hajiya Hadiza as a strong mother and community leader that impacted the lives of many in and around Jada.
Fintiri said, “Her children will miss her motherly counsel especially now that Barrister Shehu needs her most.”
