Heartland Football Club of Owerri, Imo State, has announced that all outstanding debts that had previously inhibited their participation in the 2025-26 Nigeria National League (NNL) season have been settled.
Heartland Technical Manager Emmanuel Amunike revealed that the payment was made possible by Imo State Governor Senator Hope Uzodimma.
LEADERSHIP recalls that the debts were incurred before the present club administration, and had posed a significant obstacle to the team’s registration and smooth operation in the new league season.
The technical manager expressed gratitude to the Governor for his unwavering support and commitment to the club’s progress.
“We are deeply grateful to His Excellency, Hope Uzodimma, for coming through for Heartland FC once again. His intervention has brought relief and renewed motivation to the entire team. We can now fully focus on our football and deliver the results that will make Imo people proud,” Amunike said.
The technical manager also highlighted the club’s commitment to transparency, professionalism, and accountability as the club kicks off the new season.
