American based Nigerian super model, Babalola Otitoju Joseph, also known as Joseph Water, has said he always set out to be a fashion model as a career when he was growing up as a kid.
He said his modelling skills were horned when his mother brought him to the United States of America when he was 20 years, adding that people’s comments on his good looks also propelled him to delve into fashion modelling.
Speaking in an interview with reporters, the super talented handsome male model, who was formerly known as Joseph Walter, but has now changed his stage name to Joseph Water, said his modelling skills were horned in the United States of America, where he got exposed to top notch drills from expert hands in the field of modelling.
Going back memory lane to how his modelling odyssey started, the innately gifted Joseph Water said he was convinced to venture into modelling when he got to United States of America.
According to Joseph Water, “I was born in Nigeria and remained there for 20 years before moving to America. Growing up, I had dreams of becoming a fashion model and was able to begin to develop my modeling career when I moved to the United States.
“When my mother had the opportunity to bring me to the United States, it propelled me forward to want to invest in my career. It seemed that everywhere I went, people would tell me that I could be a great model because I had the look. This was what pushed me to begin doing photoshoots”, added Joseph Water.
Continuing, Babalola Otitoju Joseph, aka Joseph Water said, “after a year of working with different photographers, I finally started attending casting calls and from there began walking in fashion shows around Dallas. Just after a year of being in the US, I then was presented with an opportunity to participate in New York fashion week as a runway model.
” I had the opportunity to meet with several stylists, models, and designers which was a great networking opportunity for me. I believe that through hard work and concentration you can make your dreams come true”, added Joseph Water.
Reacting to a question on if his mother objected to his dream to take up fashion modelling as a professional career, Joseph Water replied in the affirmative, noting that, “my mother always wanted education to come first so I am still in school to finish my degree but actively pursuing my modeling career as well. There is no rule written anywhere that I cannot be successful in both areas, so I am committed to”.
For the majority of models the industry has a way of affecting their lives, whether positively or negatively and for Joseph Water, his life and livelihood have taken a turn for the better through his exposure to the modelling world.
Speaking on how his foray into modelling has impacted his life, Joseph Water said, ” it has been so wonderful since I became a fashion model as my life has improved greatly. It has been one jolly good ride and I am loving it everyday and thankful for this opportunity to live my dream”.
Joseph Water added that, “I am inspired by models who started from the bottom and succeed with effort and humility, without changing themselves and continue to appreciate everything and also my biggest inspiration is people who never give up on what life throw at them.
“I am also inspired by people who do great thing to break their weaknesses. Such cases showed me how to be brave and never give up. we only live once and even though we don’t have everything we desire still we can do something good for the world and make our dreams come true”, added Babalola Otitoju Joseph.
