Following an alleged threat to life and malicious damage, the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Mohammed Adamu, has directed the Assistant Commissioner of Police, Monitoring Unit, Force Headquarters, Abuja, to step into the investigation of a case of land tussle between Odion Osayande and Osasere Ohunba.
The directive of the IGP is to also investigate the level of involvement of some men of Federal Special Anti-Robbery Squad(SARS), Area 3 Abuja.
The petition was written on 20th July, 2020, on behalf of an Orphan, Mr. Osasere Ekhator Ohunba of 12 Ekenwe Road, Benin City, by his solicitors Musa Musa and co with office situated in Abuja.
Osasere Ekhator Ohunba, had earlier petitioned the AIG Zone 5, Benin City, to protect him from the alleged land grabber, Odion Osayande and his police hirelings.
In the petition that he sent through his counsel, Osasere claimed that he is being intimidated, harassed and conspired against by Odion Osayande in connivance with some police officers at the Esigie Police Division in Benin City all in their attempt to frame him up.
The petitioner alleged that his problem started on his discovery that his late father’s large expanse of land in Ekhator Village, Ikpoba Okha Local Government Area of Edo State, was encroached upon “by Odion Osayande and his cohorts who constituted themselves as Community Development Association and allocated to themselves and other innocent buyers.”
