The Minister of Police Affairs, Maigari Dingyadi has said despite the expression of dissatisfaction about the level of insecurity in Nigeria, security agencies are doing their best to ensure that every part of this country is safe.
Dingyadi, who spoke to newsmen in Sokoto reassured Nigerians that he is very optimistic that the security agencies will certainly overcome all merchants of insecurity.
Asked about his assessment of the security situation, the Minister said, “It will be unfair for me to say that Nigerians are satisfied with the level of insecurity. However, it is equally important to note that the security agencies are doing their best and we are certain that we will certainly overcome”.
While stressing that insurgency is like a war that Nigeria is already winning, Dingyadi assured that all security agencies are in a harmonious synergy against the insurgents.
Speaking on the ongoing police recruitment, the Minister added that the process is very transparent. This according to him, is because there are representatives from every local government area in the screening of credentials, being the first stage.
“The second stage is still coming. We will continue to ensure that it is still as transparent as we can.”
The police Affairs minister who divulged that they are very concerned about the welfare of police officers, added also that the new police act is intended to improve the services of the police.
