The Inter Party Advisory Council (IPAC) has felicitated with president Mohammadu Buhari on his 75th birth day anniversary, asking God to grant him strong health and wisdom to govern the country to the path of economic growth.
The chairman of IPAC, Mohammad Nalado, who said this in a statement he issues in Abuja, said also that the IPAC welcomes on board the 21 new parties recently registered by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
According to the statement, IPAC said President Buhari has achieved a lot in ensuring that there is peace and stability across the country, especially in the north east region, adding that the economy is tremendously recovering from recession under his watch.
IPAC while urging the President not to despair in the face of the daunting challenges confronting his administration, however enjoined Nigerians irrespective of political affiliation, to be supportive of the President rather than fanning the embers of hatred.
“I pray God to continue to strengthen you with long life, good health, wisdom, grace, and all that it takes to lead Nigeria to prosperity. In due time, posterity will remember you for your stewardship in gold in the annals of the nation”, IPAC said in the statement.
He particularly extolled the virtues of the President whom he said has not impeded on the growth of political parties in Nigeria or gagged criticism from opponents but had always accommodated divergent political opinions and interests.
Nalado who is also the chairman of ACCORD (A), commended the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for registering twenty one more parties saying it will open the further the democratic space in the country.
IPAC, while welcoming the new parties on board, urged them to play politics according to the guidelines of political parties, stressing that their opposition to government must be with utmost responsibility.
He said there is no political party in Nigeria that is small, as any one can be elected to power at anytime, hence he charged them to work hard to make their own contribution to the growth and sustainability of democratic tenets in Nigeria.
Nalado however challenged the new parties to embark on grassroots mobilization ahead of 2019 elections, adding that IPAC under his leadership, will always protect the interest of all registered political parties and provide all the necessary support to enable them achieve their desired potentials.
