Again, there are reported cases of killings and burning of houses and worship centers ongoing in Kajuru local government area of Kaduna State.

A competent source from the area who pleaded anonymity said, the killers are suspected Fulani people apparently on reprisal attack following the last crisis where it was reported that no fewer than 131 people were killed.

According to the source who said he narrowly escaped, “Our houses and churches burnt down with people being killed, no official figure of casualties yet” he said.

Efforts to get official confirmation from security not yet fruitful as at the time of filing this report.

Meanwhile, The Kaduna State Government on Tuesday said it has received the sad news of renewed attacks in Kajuru and Kachia local government areas.

The government condemned the recourse to violence, and calls on all communities to support the efforts to restore calm in the area.

Samuel Aruwan, Senior Special Assistant to Governor Nasir El-Rufai on Media and Publicity, in a statement said  “Today, the Kaduna State Government was briefed by security agencies of renewed attacks in Kajuru local government area, and in parts of neighboring Kachia LGA.

“The Kaduna State Government has been assured that the security agencies are working assiduously to contain the situation.

“The Government is saddened by these attacks, condemns the perpetrators and urges all residents of the area to support the security agencies in their efforts to protect communities.”

Recall, that just recently there was an attack in Kajuru were many were reportedly killed.
