Kaduna State House of Assembly yesterday passed three bills in within one hour. The bill passed into law are Kaduna State college of education law 2018 in which the college will be multi- campus in nature, Kaduna State whistle blower protection law with the purpose of protecting persons who exposed information or activity that is illegal eitheir in public or private sector.
The third one is the Kaduna state Anti corruption law 2018 which is aimed at providing for effective prevention of corruption and abuse of office and to also increase accountability and transparency in public sector of Kaduna state.
The sitting which was presided over by the Speaker Alhaji Aminu Shagali passed all the three bills into law after presentation of the reports by the Chairman adhoc committee on bills Mr Kantiok Irimiya Ishaku after which the rule 3 line 1 and paragraph 7 of the standard rules of the House was set aside to allow for the third reading of bills.
Meanwhile, the bill to amend the district courts law Cap 46 laws of kaduna state 1999 and the bill for a law to establish the kaduna state burial law 2018 scaled first and second reading and were referred to ad-hoc committee on bills for an indepth study.
While highlighting on the bills, the majority leader Alhaji Mohammed Inuwa said the bill seeks to amends the district court by increasing the civil claims not exceeding five million Naira.
Adding that the bill when passed will see to the speedy disposal of cases and dispensation of justice by significantly reducing delay in hearing.
While the Kaduna State burial law seek to designates effective control and manage public burial grounds and cemeteries, which when it becomes a law, will empower the state government to make other regulations to ensure safe and ethical burial practices in the state.
