The Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi II has warned Kano citizens against announcement of inconclusive election results on social media as only INEC has the statutory mandate to announce results.

Emir Sanusi who addressed journalists, yesterday, at his palace, noted that, “We should avoid doing things that would degenerate into chaos, more so announcing results that are clearly spelt out as inconclusive by INEC, on social media platforms will confuse people and that should be avoided.

“You should not engage in actions that would reduce Kano to disrepute and destroy its ancestral dynasty, everyone should allow INEC the authentic and legally recognised body to complete its job”.

Emir Sanusi reminded Kano indigenes that politics is not a do or die affair, “therefore we should not kill ourselves, we should allow winners to emerge and losers to give it a trial in the next political dispensation.”

He said rumor mongering sometimes is the source of disaffection and results in chaos and uncertainty, “the elections conducted was a clear one that already produced results and the results are allocated to each parties now what is left is the inconclusive and Kano people should allow INEC to announce the final results for peace to reign.

The Emir further in a strong voice commended the Kano police commissioner, Muhammad Wakil for ensuring peace before, during and after the elections, adding that the police under his professional guidance had done the state proud.

Sanusi said, “ the Compol has restored the confidence, trust and dignity of the police. May Allah reward him abundantly”.
