About five Igbo motor and electrical spare-part dealers trading around the Bedwell axis an area well known for motor and electrical spareparts business in Calabar South local government of Cross River State have been abducted by hoodlums within three weeks in Calabar metropolis of the state.
Investigations carried out by our correspondent in Cross River State revealed that while one Ifeanyi and Lazarus, spare parts dealers, and other of the victims popularly nick-name as”but why” were kidnapped two weeks ago, another of the igbo trader who specialises in marketing electrical parts/ dealer in all sorts of electrical materials was also whisked away by the kidnappers on Monday this week.
Facts emerged that the victims were said to have been kidnapped at their shops at Victor Akan Street an area known for all sales of motor and electrical spare parts in Calabar metropolis of the state.
It was learnt that while one Ifeanyi and Lazarus, spare parts dealers, were kidnapped two weeks ago, an electrical dealer and contractor popularly known by friends and associates as ‘But Why’ was whisked away on Monday.
Family sources averred that they have regained freedom after paying ransom running into millions of naira.
As if that wasn’t enough, the latest kidnapping of one popular Japanese spare parts dealer, Mr Paulinus Obi, popularly known as Matata, and Emmanuel Ozokwu a contractor have sent shivers down the spine of most of Igbo traders doing business in the area in Calabar South of Cross River State.
The Japanese motor spare dealer was taken hostage by dare-devil kidnappers on Wednesday at Bedwell Street, while Ozokwu was whisked away on Thursday at Target Street all in Calabar South LGA of the state, a local government noted for all manner of notoriety in Calabar metropolis of the state.
