Lafarge Africa Plc, the Nigerian operations of the world’s leading building materials company, LafargeHolcim, has launched a promotion to appreciate and reward loyal customers with N120 million as it joins the nation to celebrate it’s 60th anniversary.

Speaking to journalists, the company’s commercial director, Gbenga Onimowo, said the promo, which has been ongoing for retailers since May climaxed with its extension to end users in August and it will run until the end of the year, adding it is targeted at all levels of the value chain: wholesale, retail, blockmakers and end users who sell or use Lafarge Africa’s suite of quality products for their building and construction projects.

“Lafarge is the first company to produce cement in Nigeria with quality products and iconic brands including Elephant cement, Lafarge Elephant Supaset, AshakaCem and Unicem brands for the local market; relying on its global expertise. Recently it has introduced innovative products like the newly improved Elephant Supaset in horizontal bags and Supafix tile adhesive.

“This promo is designed to appreciate our customers who have been loyal to our brand over the years and to also show our potential customers that apart from the unparalleled products that we offer, Lafarge Africa is a company of choice. In this promotion, ‘Everyone is a winner’, builders, artisans, engineers and contractors all over Nigeria have rewarded Lafarge’s commitment to the country as demonstrated in the increasing sales and stability and growing profitability of Lafarge operations,” he said.

Speaking further on the mechanics of the promo, the marketing communications and brands manager, Augustina Sobola, stated that upon the purchase of a bag of cement, a customer stands a chance to win an instant recharge card which can be used across all networks and for bulk purchases retails get an additional bag.

In addition to the instant prize’s worth over N80 million, the Block makers category will have the opportunity to win more prizes in 6 raffle draw events aimed to promote brand affinity, product advocacy and sustain our relationship with this segment. The Blockmakers stand a chance to win 8 horsepower Lister generators, 1.8kva generators, block making machines, 2,000 litre water tanks and other household items.

A statement by the company’s director of communications, public affairs, Folashade Ambrose-Medebem, quoted the Larfarge’s country chief executive officer, Mr. Khaled El-Dokani, as saying that Lafarge is synonymous with quality, innovation and iconic buildings as it commenced production at a time when the country gained independent and has been active in rapidly expanded investments in infrastructure.
