Member representing Hong/Gombi federal constituency, Hon Yusuf Buba, has distributed agricultural inputs to widows, as part of constituency empowerment project.
The lawmaker, during flag-off at the end of Micro Irrigation Farming and Good Agricultural Practices on horticultural crops training in Hong, charged the beneficiaries to make good use of the items.
The training on production, storage and processing, was organised in partnership with Federal College of Horticulture, Dadin Kowa, Gombe State, for optimum yield and job creation.
Represented by Martins Ayuba, the lawmaker, distributed Wet Season Agricultural Inputs Supports, startup grant, sprayers, seeds, mats to the beneficiaries for the irrigation scheme.
Ayuba noted that, the beneficiaries are identified based on stringent criteria of grassroots vulnerability of widows and youths in the two councils.
Engr Yahaya Abubakar, from College of Horticulture, Gombe, pointed out that the participants at the grassroots would replicate the training workshop.
Abubakar advised the beneficiaries to form cooperative society in order to key in to agricultural diversification of the federal government and easy access of land to enhance food production in the area.
