Oyo State governor, Seyi Makinde, has expressed the intention of his administration to increase performance of the state’s budget 2021 to 75 percent.
The governor disclosed this in Oyo town during the stakeholder consultative meeting on the 2022 budget, upon which deliberations had earlier been held in other zones of the state.
The governor who was represented at the forum with critical stakeholders in the second half of year 2021 in Oyo by the Special Assistant on Economic Affairs, Babatunde Musibau said the state’s budget performance reached 60 percent.
He said the increment necessitated the resolution of the current administration to jerk-up the appropriation bill’s performance.
The governor added that the four cardinal points the current administration is standing on include Health, Education and improvement of the economy through agri-business.
“We have achieved 60 per cent performance of the 2021 budget in the first half of the year, which gives the assurance that we can always do better.
“It is the people’s budget that is why we are here to interact with the critical stakeholders, to get their inputs and get the state moving.”
