Lagosians, especially those on the mainland will be able to hobnob with some of Nigeria’s most popular celebrities this Sunday as the rave-of-the-moment comedy concert sponsored by Globacom, Glo Laffta Fest, comes to Ikeja in Lagos.
The show which will hold at the 10 Degrees Event Centre in Oregun will see the likes of Patience Ozokwor, popularly called Mama G, prolific actress and film producer, Funke Akindele, one of Yoruba film’s most popular actors, Odunlade Adekola and Nollywood living legend, Richard Mofe-Damijo, who will be there courtesy of Globacom, to relish the show and add colour to the event.
According to a press statement by Globacom to announce the concert, the best of artistes from the comedy community will perform in Ikeja.
“Glo Laffta Fest will avail the residents of Ikeja the opportunity to relax and enjoy themselves in an atmosphere of fun and laughter. It will be a night they will cherish for a long time to come,” Globacom stated.
Budding comedians from Lagos are also expected to show the stuff they are made of at the show.
Speaking ahead of Sunday’s gig, Dan D’Humorous said, “Come Sunday…the good people of Ikeja should expect nothing but the best from the wolf himself. It will be premium comedy in an unlimited fashion, Glo Style.”
Another big act slated for the weekend, Acapella said, “….It’s going to be absolutely refreshing.”
Ebube Nwagbo and Uche Jombo, will be the masters of ceremonies.
Glo Laffta Fest is currently going round the nation and has been held in 15 locations out of a total of the 27 locations the show is scheduled to tour.
To attend the Ikeja show, Glo subscribers are expected to use up to N2,000 credit within one month and text LOL with the location name to the short code 240; for example, “LOL Ikeja” to 240. They can otherwise go to the event venue with N2000 to purchase airtime for their own use. They will then be entitled to a ticket.
After Ikeja, the show moves to Ibadan for a second showing in the largest city in West Africa before going to other locations, such as FESTAC, Suleja, Kano, Anyigba, Lokoja, Port Harcourt, Onitsha, Makurdi and Ajah.
