The state coordinator, National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Adamawa State, Abubakar Mohammed, has said that the scheme has become hot cake, where people falsify their dates of birth, in order to fit into the age bracket for mobilisation.
He said the numerous contributions of the NYSC to national unity, integration and development, has made it appealing and acceptable to most parents, who also see it as a platform for job creation for their children.
He disclosed this yesterday, in Yola, while declaring open the orientation course for 1,700 Batch ‘C’ Corp members deployed for national service to the state.
Earlier, governor of Adamawa State, Muhammad Jibrilla, had urged the corps members, to cast away reservation about the state, as security agencies are leaving no stone unturned to ensure the security and safety of all inhabitants of the state.
Represented by the Head of Service, Dr Edgar Amos, he said government is making plans to upgrade facilities in the Damare Permanent Orientation Camp, to guarantee comfort of corps members deployed to the state.
