Turkey-based Nigerian comedian-cum-musician LinoMrLion has pointed out what could facilitate fast growth and development of the Nigerian entertainment industry.
The artiste, Wemimo Iyiola Samson in a recent interview said: “The industry is in a remarkable state for now. All the sectors are doing just fine as the case may be, but the level of collaboration across the board needs intensification.
To this end, a memorandum of understanding should be signed by stakeholders in the industry with a view to enabling synergy of efforts.”
He also avowed that it makes no difference to him that he is living in a foreign country, insisting that he is hardly a victim of racism.
“Aside from one or two occasions, I am hardly faced with racist attacks. It is one thing to be mocked, it is another thing to let it get to you. If and when it happens, I just laugh it off. During my secondary school days, I did call a guy ‘blacky’, another ‘monkey’, and still another ‘Badagry coconut head’. Did that make them fight? Not at all, we all laughed over it. So, if you abuse me racially, I will just laugh at you, by that you inevitably become my friend. I am a black boy with a white wife,” he said.
Despite having a celebrity crush on Nollywood actress Genevieve Nnaji, for “her swag and Acting skills”, LinoMrLion, however, avowed that he is a loyal husband and does not subscribe to the babymama vogue.
“I am really enjoying my marriage,” he said.
LinoMrLion further disclosed that he missed his home country, Nigeria. “One of the things I miss most about Nigeria is the cuisine and also my mum,” he stated, “although she comes around to see how I am faring, yet, there is no place like home.”
