MTN Nigeria has rewarded content creators and subscribers of the MTN Shortz- a platform where content creators can share their short videos.
Speaking at the maiden edition of the MTN digital content conference organised recently in Lagos, chief marketing and strategy officer MTN Nigeria, Raul De, stated that MTN shortz is a platform developed with the aim of helping content creators and encourage monetized contents.
“What is it that an average Nigerian consumers want? Is it content which is local, is it content which is international? What we have found is that most users will like to have the local flavour. There is plenty of initiative, plenty of talent which is in this country, the thing that is missing is that they don’t know how to annex them so MTN shortz created a platform for equal opportunities for all of us to create content and develop new ideas” he said.
Also speaking, general manager in charge of Value Added Services (VAS) Aisha Umar Mumuni explained that MTN shortz was launched July 2017 to allow content creators upload their short form video contents of not more than five to fifteen minutes long, adding that MTN Nigeria realized that overtime the quality of the contents were not where they really like it to be thus they decided to hold a digital content conference.
