Like the popular saying that behind a successful man, there is always a woman, businessman who is also the Senior Special Assistant to Delta State Governor, Ifeanyi Okowa, Kevin Olu, has revealed how his wife has been a backbone to his success in life.
According to Kevin Olu, he would remain grateful to his wife for her love and faithfulness because she has been standing by him both in business and political life.
Speaking during a recent interview with journalists, Kevin Olu, who is from the Fregene family in Fregene quarters at Ogwanja in Koko, Warri North local government area of Delta State, has two chains of businesses, Orit-winors Nig Ltd and First Triple Billionaire with a networth of N6billion.
“My wife is the one running my business for me and we are doing very well. I believe that before the year runs out, we will get to a point where the country will know us by God’s grace.
“I must confess, the secrets of my success in business is because I have a supportive wife. She is always there for me. Whenever I am away, she is seriously on the ground to make the companies work
“We are still running a hospitality business which is part of Triple Billionaires. My wife is helping me in my hotel business. She had a background in this through her father, Michael Ejele was once a board member of Delta Line and was later appointed a Commissioner in Delta State.
“My wife is really my backbone and she has been singlehandedly run my business and has been assisting me in putting things together. She is somebody that has really assisted me in my business,”said Kevin Olu, who is popularly called Ktsele1.
Speaking about the nature of his businesses, Kevin Olu, a graduate of Public Administration from Edo State University disclosed that “We are into equipment; we deal on vessel parts and every marine equipment. This is a business I learnt from my father who was a Naval officer. He spent almost all his life abroad and he built a lot of boats, vessel parts. It was through I got the link to start Orit-winors Nig Ltd,” added Kevin Olu, also fondly referred to as Ktsele1.
Kevin Olu, however, revealed how he and his wife is about starting another line of business, as he has been discussing with some foreign partners in China to bring two companies into reality.
“I have been discussing with some people in China where I plan to bring my own brand, which is K. Shirley Nigeria Limited and my wife is doing her own which is Mrs Shirley Nigeria Limited. I bought a place in the Lekki Phase 1 in Lagos which I want to use for the business. I bought the property worth N1.5 billion and by God’s grace we are starting the business this December,” said Kevin Olu
He also revealed how he has risen to become a successful politician in Delta State through patience, focus and respect for party supremacy.
According to Kevn Olu who was born to Mr Samuel Ogbeyeje Olu, Nee Erewa, “I was born on 2 July 1980. I attended Ayo Primary School in Sapele. I left for secondary at Oriapele Secondary School, after which I attended Edo State University, Ekpoma. I did Diploma in Business Administration, thereafter I proceeded to do my Bsc in Public Administration. I further went for different courses in London. I later came back to Nigeria and joined politics.
“At a different time in my political career in Delta State, I was Special Adviser to the Governor on Special Duties, Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Waterways and Land Security, Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Foreign Relations and currently the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Security Matters,” said Kevin Olu.
