Nasarawa State deputy governor, Silas Ali Agara, was yesterday conferred with a traditional title in Akwanga local government area of the state.
Agara was conferred with the title of Garkuwan Mada by the Chun Mada, Pastor Samson Gamu Yare, in his palace in Akwanga.
Also confered with a traditional title was the former deputy governor of Nasarawa State, Chief Mike Abdul, as the new Baraden Mada.
Both Silas Agara and Mike Abdul, who is also of Mada extraction from Akwanga local government area of the state. Also inaugurated yesterday by the paramount ruler of Mada, was the elders council of Mada nation known as ‘Lunku Mada’
Conferring the title on the beneficiaries at his palace Pastor Yare, said that the recipients were honoured with the titles for their contributions to the development of Mada nation.He urged them to continue in the same spirit to sustain the pace of development in his domain.
Pastor Yare, urged them to uphold the virtues of truth and discipline in the discharge of their responsibilities to Mada nation, Nasarawa State and the country at large.
The deputy governor, Silas Ali Agara, while responding, thanked the traditional council for the honour, confidence and trust bestowed upon him and others.
