Thank you for this opportunity and hope that Mr. Ibrahim Mustafa Magu remains seated to read my case. I petitioned the EFFC in 2015 regarding the level, scale and severity of corruption in the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE), Kaduna, that has been ongoing and orchestrated/perpetuated by Dr Masaudu A. Kazaure, who till date serves as its Executive Secretary since 2010.
In the said petition I provided valid, convincing, glaring, undisputed facts and evidences to buttress my allegations that go a long way to expose the monumental corruption carried out by Dr. Kazaure and his partners. I equally followed up my petition with visits and letters to the EFCC Zonal Office in Kano but all my efforts were futile. However, I am happy to note and recognize the efforts of the agency in the diligent investigations undertaken at various times in the Board leading to the confirmation and validation of the allegations raised. Although several efforts were made to temper, suppress and or delay the outcomes of the investigation by the Legal Officer, Kano Zonal Office where the case has been domiciled, the Zonal Office remained focused until recently. One wonders why cases that have been investigated along or after that of the Board had been taken to court while this one is being compromised. Examples of such cases are: the Former Director-General, National Teachers’ Institute, Kaduna, Former Provost, Federal College of Education, Zaria, Director General, National Biotechnology Development Agency of Nigeria, Abuja and the recent National Health Insurance Scheme, Abuja who is currently on suspension etc.
To my utmost dismay, the investigations have been concluded and a prima-facie case has long been established which means that only prosecution remains. In all honesty and to my knowledge this case is being delayed and subverted by the Legal Officer. However, my hope was raised when a new Zonal Director was posted but yet the case is yet to be prosecuted in court. Your recent visit to Kano as I expect was to direct immediate prosecution of all pending (concluded) cases including that of Dr. Kazaure of NBTE. Alas! we are yet to see to that and I feel at this rate I shall remind you through this open medium and public court, so that the needful is done.
Please Mr. Magu kindly remain on your seat to ensure proper, diligent and effective prosecution of Dr. Kazaure of NBTE in order to rid the country of his types who see public treasury as their heritage. I am also aware that numerous concerned NGOs who wish Nigeria well in fighting corruption showed interest in this matter by either personally visiting you in your office or writing to your office so that the case is being prosecuted.
While thanking you in anticipation of your prompt and speedy prosecution of this case, I wish to acknowledge your dogged determination, commitment and patriotism in fighting the menace of corruption in Nigeria.
