#NigeriaDecides2019: PDP Wins Warri Federal Constituency

Mr Thomas Ereyitomi of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has won the Warri Federal Constituency in the last Saturday National Assembly poll.

Ereyitomi polled a total of 152,874 votes to defeat his closest rival in the contest Mr Daniel Reyenieju of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) who polled a total of 25,032.

The Returning Officer in Warri Federal Constituency, Dr Samuel Usifo of the University of Benin on Monday also announced that Mr Alex Eyengho of the All Progressive Congress (APC) scored a total of 18,437 votes.

Reyenieju is the incumbent House member representing the Constituency at the National Assembly.

“Thomas Ereyiyomi of the PDP, having satisfied the Electoral requirement and scored the highest votes is hereby declared winner of the Warri Federal Constituency,” Usifo said.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Warri Federal Constituency comprises Warri South, Warri South-West and Warri North Local Government Areas.

Usifo said the total registered voters for the House of Representative in the Warri Federal Constituency stood at 430,246.

He also said that the total valid votes was 198,974 while the rejected votes was 4,637 and the total vote cast was 203,611.

The Collation Officer in Warri South, Prof. Solomon Omonigho had earlier said the total valid votes in the Council was 35,231 while the rejected votes was 2,170 and 37,401 was total votes cast.

Also, the Returning Officer in Warri South-West, Omoyakhi Moses said that a total of 161,753 voters registered in the local government.

He said that the total valid votes was 124,629 while the rejected votes was 1,540 and the number of accredited votes stood at 126,161.

Warri North had a total registered voters of 97,053, valid votes 39,113, void votes of 927 and total votes cast 40,040.

Responding, Ereyitomi said the victory was for the good people of Warri Federal Constituency.

“I appeal to my opponents for all of us to come together and work for the good of the people of the Constituency and move it forward,” he said.
