Zonal presiding pastor of Jesus Life Bible Church (JLBC), Pastor Adamu Emmanuel Umoru, has charged Nigerians to cultivate the lifestyle of selflessness, saying it was one of the key ingredients to a healthy and peaceful society.
Umoru, who stated this yesterday in Abuja during a Sunday service drew his message from the book of First John, chapter 3, verses 16 through 18 of the Holy Bible, saying if everyone in the society had lived a life of positive impact on neighbours and friends, the purpose for God creating mankind would have been fulfilled.
“If everything is about yourself, you are indeed a disappointment to the purpose of God creating you”, Umoru said, adding that, “when people are not selfless, there cannot be distribution of wealth”.
He stressed that, confession of love through words and tongue was not enough, but the love practised “in truth and indeed”.
While charging the congregation to imbibe the habit of visitations and gifts presentation, especially to the less privileged, Umoru said, “selfishness blinds you from seeing another person”.
He however, added that, one of the rewards for being selfless is to be celebrated by communities, friends and neighbours as a star, adding that, heaven also rewards selflessness.
Highlights of the service includes, exchange of gifts amongst worshipers, a taste of meal as love feast, cutting of birthday cake to commemorate members born in the month of November, among others.
