The Director General and Chief Executive of the Nigerian Institute of Transport Technology (NITT), Zaria, Dr. Aminu Musa Yusuf, has stressed that the institute will leave no stone unturned in its quest to professionalize and sanitize the transport sector.
Yusuf, who made this known when the Assistant Corps Commander, Federal Road Safety Commission Zaria Unit Command, Abdulkadir Ahmed, paid him a courtesy visit, observed that NITT and the Federal Road Safety Corps shared core values and ideals, nothing that the two organisations are like twins.
According to NITT boss, safety and efficiency had always been the institute’s watchword, noting that the NITT had identified the flyover, PZ, Kofan Doka, among others as black spots in Zaria and enjoined FRSC to bring its expertise to bear on such junctions.
Yusuf,enumerated areas of collaboration between FRSC and NITT to include curriculum development, staff exchanges, training and research, among others.
He commended FRSC for its cooperation vis-à-vis NITT transport data bank and driving School.
Speaking earlier, the Assistant Corps Commander, Zaria Unit Command, Abdulkadir Ahmed, noted with satisfaction the long standing mutual relationship between FRSC and NITT.
He explained that the purpose of the visit was to cement the already existing cordial working relationship between the two organisations and explore new areas of collaboration.
Ahmed, asserted that he was particularly impressed with the quality of NITT’s training programmes while expressing optimism that he would be a proud alumnus of NITT someday.
In his remarks, the Registrar of the Institute, Malam Sule Bello, while reiterating the complementary relationship between the two organisations, praise FRSC’s commitment to and diligence in bringing safety to Nigerian roads.
