National President of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Mr. Christopher Isiguzor has commended Gombe State governor, Muhammadu  Inuwa Yahaya, for his administration’s giant strides in the areas of education, road construction and other sectors.

The NUJ President led  a delegation of the national leadership of the union on a 3-day working visit to Gombe as part of their nationwide tour.

He said they were impressed with  Yahaya’s efforts in providing dividends of democracy to his people.

While inspecting some road projects at the Jeka Da Fari North ward, GRA and the ongoing construction of the NUJ press centre, Isiguzor described the governor as one of the most committed and prudent leaders in the nation, who manage the little resources at their  disposal to provide much for their people.

The NUJ President promised that he will ensure that the media under his watch, partners with   Yahaya’s government to promote the laudable developmental activities being carried out by his administration.

At all the places visited,  Isiguzor lauded Yahaya’s administration for recording remarkable achievements within a short time, especially  the efforts he is making towards revamping the education sector as well as other infrastructural developments.

It will be recalled that ,the NUJ president and his team had earlier paid a courtesy call on the governor at the Government House, where the governor restated his readiness to support journalists to perform their duties effectively, as well as ensure their security and that of the generality of the people.

Yahaya added  that his idea of journalism, is to set agenda and make government accountable especially to its promises to the people.

He urged  the NUJ visiting team not to hide anything they see in Gombe to the world,  saying , “as you go round to see what we are doing, feel free to criticize us as we are ready to make amends.”
