The Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE) yesterday said it has set aside a day for national fasting and prayer for God to prevail on Kaduna State governor, Nasiru el-Rufai on the mass sack of local government workers in the state, and his anti-workers’ policy.
The union which tasked the governor to reverse the decision to sack the workers, ed of the social and political implications such moves would have on the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC)
National president of NULGE, Comrade Ibrahim Khaleel, who made the call in Abuja at the National Executive Council (NEC) meeting of the union, said the recent actions of Governor el-Rufai would destroy President Muhammadu Buhari’s reputation and affect his chances of winning the 2019 election.
He lamented how Nigerians were promised a better life and massive job creation by the APC, saying if the party did not retrace its steps and repent from causing more hardship and suffering to Nigerians, the consequences would be severe.
“Here is the APC government that promised job creation to Nigerians now disengaging workers. A party that rose to power on the good will of Nigerians now melting hardship and suffering to workers.
