…. How Movies Nominated Ranked At The Box Office
The Oscars which is the reference point to rewarding the Best and Qualitative Movies in the world, holds today on Sunday, March 4, 2018.
The 90th annual academy award brings different twist and turns and of course the glam even as nearly 7,000 members of the Academy of Motion picture Arts and Sciences reflect on 2017 in film.
Already some movies which were nominated have already done themselves well at the box office.
According to Forbes Magazine, Dunkirk is far and away this year’s top grossing Oscar movie. Nominated for Best Picture, the Christopher Nolan- directed drama clinched 525.6 million dollars worldwide on a 100 million dollar Budget movie which is double the total of the next highest grossing movie , Get Out.
The nine Best Picture nominees grossed 1.3 billion dollars worldwide all together with six of them going past 100 million dollar mark. All except Phantom Thread (No 8) recouped their budget at the box office. Paul Thomas Anderson’s British portrait has managed to gross 33.3 million dollars worldwide so far on an estimated 35 million dollar budget.
Rounding out the Top 5 Biggest grossing movies selections are The Post (145.8 million dollars), Darkest Hour (135,8 million dollars ) and Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri (121.5 million dollars).
So the contest will be tough but be assured that the best grossing movie will always stand the chance of carting away with the Oscars to hold at Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, Los Angeles California at evening 5pm PST.
