The Secretary to the Osun State Government, Alhaji Moshood Olalekan Adeoti, has appealed to Nigerians to focus more on issues that will ensure and sustain enduring democratic structures in the country.

Adeoti in statement he personally signed and made available to newsmen in Osogbo urged Nigerians to do all within their individual abilities to ensure and pray that the nation’s current democratic experience is not truncated for whatever reason.

He stressed further that though no political system in the world over is perfect, but given time and perseverance on the part of all, the country’s democratic structures will get matured and Nigerians will be better for it.

“No political system all over the world can be said to be perfect, but given time and perseverance on the part of all, the operators of each of the country’s democratic structures will get matured and Nigerians will better for it,” Adeoti said.

On the state gubernatorial election scheduled to hold later in the year, Alhaji Adeoti charged all lovers of Osun project to look beyond self-serving reasons and look more at what the state needs to rank among frontline states in terms of economic growth and provision of infrastructures to make life more meaningful for the people in their choice of candidates.

He emphasised that the current administration in the state has laid the basic foundation for the incoming one to build on and ensure better living for all residents despite the paucity of funds it has to contend with in the last two years

Adeoti admonished all residents and indigenes that are of voting age and have not registered for the INEC Permanent Voters Cards (PVC) to do so ahead of the September governorship election and the January Local Government elections.

“Your voters’ cards remain the only legal tool to ensure the emergence of your favoured candidates in the fast-approaching two critical elections to ensure smooth and seamless development of Osun in the new year and even beyond.”
