The online exercise to enroll and verify retirees and prospective retirees of the treasury funded Ministries Development and Agencies (MDAs) of the federal government, is officially commencing today, 1st of September, 2021.
A statement from the National Pension Commission (PenCom) and made available to LEADERSHIP, stated that, the online application automates the Annual Pre-Retirement Verification and Enrolment Exercise for federal government retirees and prospective retirees.
Listing those eligible for the exercise, PenCom listed them to include; employees of federal government treasury-funded MDAs who retired between January and August 2021 or are due to retire from September 2021 even as the affected retirees who missed the enrollment exercise in previous years are also qualified to partake in the online verification exercise.
According to the statement, “retirees/prospective retirees for the year 2021 are required to visit PenCom’s website to initiate the online enrolment process. This is done by registering and capturing their employment details as well as uploading scanned copies of the required documents before proceeding to their respective Pension Fund Administrator (PFA) for physical verification and enrolment.
“Similarly, the retirees/prospective retirees who are unable to complete the online registration for any reason could approach the pension desk officer (PDO) of their respective MDAs or visit their PFA for assistance.
tion and Enrolment by all concerned must be completed with their respective PFAs by 29th October 2021.”
On the safety and security of the data submitted through the platform, the head, Corporate Communication, PenCom, Mr. Peter Aghahowa, while speaking with LEADERSHIP recently, assured prospective pensioners that all necessary security checks have already been carried out on the platform, such that, confidential information submitted through the platform remains sacred.
