Nasarawa State Command of the Nigeria Police yesterday paraded 42 suspected criminals arrested for various offences in the state.
This came barely two weeks after the police paraded 67 suspected criminals for different offences.
Parading the suspects before journalists in Lafia, the commissioner of police, Bola Emmanuel Longe, disclosed that the criminals were arrested in different locations in the state.
He said operatives of the command had raided and cleared criminal hideouts in Karu LGA, which resulted in the arrest of five suspected armed robbers.
CP Longe added that the command had also dismantled and neutralised the criminal network of various syndicates involved in the vandalism of Nigeria Railway Corporation tracks in the state which led to the arrest of 15 suspects.
“In continuation of the onslaught against railway tracks/slippers vandals and economic saboteurs, on 6/06/2021 at about 2330hrs, while acting on credible intelligence, operatives of the command’s Anti-Kidnapping Unit arrested more suspected railway tracks /slippers vandals at Gudi, Akanga LGA and Mararaba area of Karu LGA who have been on the run immediately the unwholesome trade was busted.
“On 6/6/2021 at about 1412hrs, the Divisional Police Officer, Mararaba “A” Division, SP Yahuza Mohammed led police operatives to Aso-Pada black spot where the criminal hideout was raided and cleared of criminal elements. The operation led to the arrest of five suspected armed robbers,” he said.
