In an effort to improve the bilateral relationship between Nigeria and Sao-Tome and Principe, the president, H.E Carlos Vila Nova paid a visit to the State House to intimate President Mohammadu Buhari on his election and subsequently invite him to his inauguration.
The President who was on hand to appreciate all efforts made for his election came to invite President Buhari to his inauguration which unfortunately, he was at the UN-General Assembly (UNGA).
In his absence, he met with the Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo at the presidential villa in company of Mohammed Garba Gololo and the State Minister of Foreign Affairs.
According to him, Nigeria is an important ally of Sao-Tome and Principe and they discussed how to improve corporations between both countries.
Hon. Gololo also said they discussed a great deal in bringing both countries together in boosting infrastructural and economic development.
“His visit to the villa was laudable because he came before his inauguration which is highly impressive for a President Elect that is supposed to be preparing for his inauguration, but still took time out of his schedule to come to a country to invite it’s leader. That’s to tell you how important that country is to him,” he explained.
