The people of Quaan Pan local government area of Plateau State are not finding life easy as heavy downpour has continued to wreak havoc in the area.
This is just as similar rains had washed away the bridge linking Doemak and Bwall towns as another heavy downpour yesterday destroyed two other local bridges at Shibiri and Kongnakwal linking Namu and Lankaku towns.
Also destroyed during the downpour were 10 houses in Lankaku village and several rice and yam farms in Kwari village, both in Namu district of the local government.
Meanwhile, the acting chairman of Quaan Pan local government area, Hon. Abdulmalik Haruna Yusuf while reacting on the unfortunate development described the situation as alarming and called on both the state and federal governments to come to the aid of the local government by reconstructing the bridges.
He also appealed to both State Emergency Management Agency, SEMA and National Emergency Management Agency, NEMA to assist the affected communities, whose livelihood and places of abode were destroyed, saying that the development has unsettled the people and placed them under untold hardship.
