The special adviser to Governor Nyesom Wike on Political Matters and Strategy, Chief Emeh Glory Emeh has expressed confidence that based on the performance of the state governor in terms of governance, infrastructural and human resources development the people of Rivers State will reelect him.

Chief Emeh, who is currently part of the team strategising for Governor Wike’s re-election was responding to a telephone conversation with our Correspondent on the pandemonium that occurred during the meeting of executive members of APC in the state yesterday, when the senator representing Rivers South East senatorial district, Senator Magnus Abe was said to have been disallowed into the party secretariat.

He noted that the people of Rivers State have found solace and a leader they can trust in Wike.

According to him: “Governor Wike is a leader our people trust, also there is no alternative to the multiple award winning governor in Rivers State as we move towards the gubernatorial election in 2019.”

He told our correspondent that he left the All Progressives Congress (APC) two years ago because he foresaw the monumental crisis in the party.

“I am happy I took the decision to move from APC to PDP with over 8, 000 former APC members. Apart from the fact that the party was not organised and lacked leadership, I did not need a soothsayer to tell me that there will be a day like yesterday, like you have just said, when the intrigues and manipulations in the party will be played out in the open.

‘’I have no doubts that APC can never and I repeat, can never organise any political programme that can be described as transparent and credible given the level of bad blood that has permeated the party leadership structure and promoted unprecedented suspicion and lack of confidence among members.

“We are expecting that in the next couple of weeks, a reasonable number of leadership of the APC in Rivers State will come over to support the administration of Governor Wike that has been adjudged as the best both nationally and internationally.

‘’There is no doubt that our people in the state are united that for the first time in the political history of Rivers State, God has given them a leader that has worked tirelessly to cement the bond of fraternal coexistence and removed all the age long barriers of ethnic separatism,’’ he said.

The political strategist also hailed the non-governmental organisations that are providing support for the governor’s re-election.

He particularly mentioned Grassroots Development Initiative, Wike Solidarity Movement, Forum of Ex-Councilors, National Association of Rivers Daughters, Rivers Patriots, Rivers Elders Consultative Council, Support Popular View Group,G4G and others, even as he observed that Governor Wike has exceeded the expectations of Rivers people.

On the establishment of the Neighbourhood security outfit in Rivers State, Chief Emeh noted that the initiative was well conceived, and now accepted as a model in Nigeria.
