The newly sworn-in chairman of Emohua local government area of Rivers State, Dr. Chidi Lloyd, has invoked a ‘No Work No Pay’ policy for civil servants working in the local government council.
This is as he vowed to fight those involved in illegal bunkering of petroleum products as well as those involved in cultism in the local government area.
Lloyd, who spoke shortly after resuming duty at the council headquarters in Emohua, expressed displeasure over the condition of the council secretariat.
The council boss frowned at the absence of council staff at their duty posts as he toured round the different departments in the council secretariat.
He, therefore, directed the Head of Personnel Management (HPM) to immediately transfer the Clerk of Emohua Local Government Legislative Assembly, for lack of diligence to duty.
Lloyd, who is a former leader of the Rivers State House of Assembly, emphasised on the need for all council staff to always be at their duty posts to justify their salaries.
The local government chairman said his administration will not tolerate any form of irresponsibility from any staff of the council.
He said it was compulsory for all council staff from the council chairman himself down to the least staff to be at their duty posts from Monday to Friday and promised to give attention to the welfare of the council staff.
Llyod vowed to build a strong synergy with the security agencies and relevant stakeholders to put an end to the rising cases of illegal oil bunkering and cult activities in parts of the local government area.
