The senator representing Zamfara West Senatorial District, Abdulaziz Yari, has commissioned road projects constructed at a cost of N4.4 billion in Sokoto State.
Yari, who is the chairman of the Senate House Committee on Water Resources, praised the state governor, Ahmed Aliyu, for being a loyal mentee of Senator Aliyu Wamakko.
He stated that he is not surprised at the speedy spate of infrastructural development being recorded in Sokoto under the leadership of Governor Aliyu and the advice of his political father, Senator Wamakko, urging the governor to keep up the pace.
Addressing party supporters while commissioning some road networks within the Mabera area of Sokoto metropolis, Senator Yari further disclosed that during his time as governor of the state, he was able to obtain and retain people’s trust and confidence because of the multiple dividends of democracy he brought to the nooks and crannies of the state.
Earlier, Governor Aliyu stated that the projects once again marked a significant milestone in their collective journey towards the state’s progress and development.
“This project is a clear testament to our administration’s unwavering focus on the pillars of our development agenda, economy, infrastructure, and quality of life.
“This moment is not merely about the concrete and asphalt beneath our feet; it is about the fulfillment of a promise. It is about our shared commitment to building a state where infrastructure works for the people, connects communities, and unlocks economic potentials.”
The governor, who praised the Mabera people for their patience and cooperation during the construction work, added that the temporary inconvenience has been rewarded with a permanent solution.
While admitting that the company that executed the project did a quality job, the governor added that it is a demonstration of their commitment to technical specifications and delivery of standard projects, which they are known for.
“The importance of this project transcends its physical structure. This newly commissioned road network will alleviate the transportation challenges that have long plagued commuters and residents, boost economic activities by reducing travel time, lowering vehicle operating costs, and making it easier for goods and services to move in and out of Mabera, enhance connectivity within our state and, by extension, support regional trade and integration.”
