The national president, Nigeria Youth Council, Comrade Bello Bala Shagari, has emerged the coordinator of West Africa Afro-Arab Youth Council at the 3rd General Afro-Arab Youth Conference held in Khartoum, Sudan.
The Afro-Arab council cuts across Africa and the Middle East. Shagari, who was visibly delighted with the honour, said however, that it is equally another great challenge for him to unite the youths of Africa towards achieving positive direction.
While stressing that he would equally use the privilege to initiate diverse self-reliant programmes for youths in Africa, Shagari noted that it is an honour done to Nigeria and her youths.
Said Shagari, “I hope to use my parents’ position to organise programs that would help the youths in West Africa especially in entrepreneurship, skill acquisition and to provide opportunities so that we can tackle the problems of poverty, crime, joblessness and migration in our region.
“It has been long when Nigeria had such an opportunity to lead the youth of Africa due to lack of participation of our National Youth Council in international affairs.”
