A prominent Islamic scholar, Sheik Dahiru Usman Bauchi and the former emir of Kano, Muhammad Sanusi II, the leader of Tijjania Movement in Nigeria, are expected in Lafia, the Nasarawa State capital for the Maulud of Shehu Tijjani.
Events heralding the arrival of the two leaders of Tijjania Movement in Nigeria, commenced yesterday at the conference hall of Taal Hotel, Lafia.
Sheik Dahiru Bauchi, in a welcome address, called on Nigerians regardless of their religious inclination to pray for Nigeria as a whole for Allah’s protection, guidance.
The renowned cleric, represented by the chairman Sheik Dahiru Usman Bauchi foundation Nasarawa State chapter, Khalifa Mohammed Buhari, enjoined Muslims in particular to use the Maulud, to fervently pray for peace, unity and development of the nation in this trying moments.
The Islamic scholar called on Muslims to be their brother’s keeper, irrespective of tribe and religious inclination to strengthen inter-religious harmony and promote peaceful co-existence among different faiths in Nigeria.
In a welcome address, the emir of Lafia, Justice Sidi Mohammed Bage (rtd), called on Muslim scholars to keep on praying for lasting peace, rapid socio-political and economic development of the country.
Represented by the Madakin Lafia, Alhaji Isiaku Dauda, the emir called on Nigerians to always see themselves as brothers and sisters, and eschew all forms of religious, tribal or ethnic bitterness.
Members of Tijjania Movement of Nigeria, from all over the country and beyond are expected to storm the state in their thousands for the five days event.
