The Sir Emeka Offor Foundation in collaboration with Aisha Buhari’s Future Assured on Wednesday donated hospital beds and medicals worth N142 million to the Federal Medical Centre (FMC) Jalingo in Taraba State.
Making the donation, the Founder, Sir Emeka Offor said the donation was his little way of contributing to the well being of humanity and his efforts in improving quality health delivery.
Offor was reported by Retired AIG Chris Ezike, he said the foudation’s collaboration with the future assured of Aisha Buhari was committed to making life better for Nigerians.
According to him, the 100 hospital beds and accessories donated cost N52 million while the medicals cost N90 million.
He explained that the beds were constructed by the Kaduna Furniture and Company Limited which won the bid by the foundation when it was not possible to source them abroad due to COVID -19 pandemic.
“We are happy to be here again today having been here three months ago when we donated medical supplies to FMC Jalingo.
“In fact the FMC Jalingo became the best in the country in showing appreciation for the medical supplies made on June 11, 2020 and that is why it got 100 hospital beds today in addition to the medication,” he said.
He urged the hospital to put the beds and medication to good use for the well being of the society even as he cautioned against diversion of the materials.
In her remarks, wife of the President, Aisha Buhari represented by Alhaji Kabiru Dodo noted that she was happy to see that FMC Jalingo has been putting the donated materials to good use for greater service to humanity.
She commended the Sir Emeka Offor Foundation for a wonderful collaboration in service to humanity.
Taraba Governor, Darius Ishaku commended the Sir Emeka Offor and the first lady, Aisha Buhari for the continuous donation to help the people of the state.
Represented by Dr Innocent Vakkai, Ishaku assured the donors that his administration would continue to build on their donations to make life better for the people of the State.
