Ahead of the 2019 general elections, a political group under the aegis of South East solidarity Movement (SESM), has drummed its support for former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, describing him as a man with experience, good intentions, and interest to move Nigeria to greater heights.
South East solidarity movement is a regional movement of five states from South East region of Nigeria.
The Director, Contact and Mobilization for Atiku’s Campaign organisations, Dr. Nicholas Msheliza, at the weekend said that South East region would guide their votes seriously to avoid rigging.
“We believe in the ideologies and manifesto of the Atiku and our group has aligned itself with this campaign.
It added that their “Mandate is to ensure that it delivers at least 80% votes from the Southeast for Atiku/Obi 2019 Presidency.
“In a bid to actualize its mandate, it has established structures at all levels, from the grassroots (ward level), the LGAs, the five states, and the region.
“We have already started consultations with different socio-political, ethnic-religious organisations in the Southeast and diaspora to canvass votes for Atiku/Obi 2019”, it quoted.
The group in a communique signed by its zonal coordinator Comrade Ikechukwu Anazodo, at the weekend vowed to tour the rural and urban cities of the region, to sensitize the need to get their Permanent Voters Cards (PVCs) and vote for Atiku come 2019.
It stated that: “We have vowed to work for the political aspiration of Atiku as we are already looking forward to congratulating him at the end of the presidential elections come 2019.
