In a meeting convened on August 15, 2023, the vice-chancellor and principal investigator, Professor Abiodun Musa Aibinu, lauded the research team’s unwavering dedication in meticulously crafting and successfully submitting the proposal.
While acknowledging this achievement as a significant milestone, he propelled them to set their sights higher, emphasising that their journey towards transformative advancements had only begun.
The heart of the project’s objective, eloquently delineated by Mrs. Mutiat Muhammed, assumes a pivotal role in reshaping the aquaculture landscape.
By harnessing the potency of Artificial Intelligence methodologies, the initiative remains steadfast in championing gender inclusivity.
Its fundamental purpose is to empower women within the aquaculture realm, equitably granting them access and opportunities in a domain historically dominated by males.
The grant’s impact transcends gender parity and seeks to facilitate the localized assimilation and harmonization of AI technologies.
The Federal University of Technology, Minna, (FUTMINNA), Nigeria, represented by Dr. Talia Folorunso at the commencement meeting; Kwara State University, Malete, Kwara State; and Federal Polytechnic, Ayede, Osun State; are members of the consortium.
