Former Tottenham Hotspur manager, the legendary Osvaldo Ardiles, has placed Argentina and Croatia to top the Group D and to play the round of sixteen in Russia 2018 World Cup, he also revealed that the Super Eagles and Iceland are not on the same level as both teams.

The 1978 World Cup-winning midfielder said that Argentina and Croatia have top stars in their team and are also ranked top above two Iceland and Nigeria in Group D.

Lionel Messi, (Barcelona)  Gomzalo Higuain (Juventus) Sergio Agureo (Manchester City)  Paulo Dybala, (Juventus will lace up  for the south Americans while Modric (Real Madrid), Rakitić (Barcelona) and Mandžukić (Juventus) are set to represent Croatia at the World Cup.

‘’In one I’m sure, Croatia and Argentina go further in the group. Everything else would be a big surprise, though,’’ Osvaldo Ardiles said to Sportske Novosti.

‘’When you see the names, then it is clear that Nigeria and Iceland cannot be on that level.

‘’With the condition that Croatia and Argentina are well placed, they are team-level at the level of their individual quality.’’

Group D contenders’ two time world champions Argentina, two European side Croatia and Iceland and the three times African champions Nigeria will all clash for a place in the round of the 16 in the Worlds Cup later this year.
