The commissioner for Rural Electrification, Taraba State, Hon. Alexander Markus Senlo is dead. He died after a brief illness.
The two-time commissioner under the administration of Governor Darius Ishaku died in a Yola hospital after he fell ill three days ago.
The state’s commissioner for Information, Barr. Danjuma Adamu confirmed the death of Senlo to our correspondent on phone in Jalingo, Taraba State capital.
Adamu said Hon. Senlo fell sick three days ago and was first of all hospitalized in Jalingo before he was taken to Yola for further medical attention.
Meanwhile, Governor Darius Dickson Ishaku has said that he received with shock news of the sudden death of the commissioner for Rural Development, Hon Alexander Markus Senlo.
The governor in a statement signed by his senior special assistant on Media and Publicity, Bala Dan Habu said that late Alexander Markus Senlo was a grassroots politician and a loyal party man.
“He was an asset to our great party, the People’s Democratic Party, PDP.
“As member of the state Executive Council, he made very useful contributions to debates, especially in areas that had to do with the extension of amenities to the rural populace. His death at this time has left a big gap that will be difficult to fill,” he said.
