It may have taken the Founder of ‘The Fashion Knot’, Francoise Merus a while to get off the ground in pursuing her dream to have a place in the fashion space but once she got going, it appears there was no stopping her as she is gently and steadily building her own niche.
In her recent summation she declares that her brand, ‘The Fashion Knot’ an online boutique and fashion blog was created for the women with impeccable taste, for the women who like to be overdressed, and for the women who enjoy affordable luxury.
“The Fashion Knot was created for the women with impeccable taste, for the women who like to be overdressed, and for the women who enjoy affordable luxury. I have the perfect audience for special occasions that would want to wear dresses from the fashion knot,” she said.
Francoise Merus founded The Fashion Knot in 2019 as The Fashion Knot LLC but she didn’t launch officially until June of 2021.
She explains why: “I got cold feet! I was worried about all the wrong things and fear stopped me from doing anything else. Since March 2019 I had a dream that I should really go after the fashion industry. I knew that there was a lot of money to be made in this industry and I always had a good eye for fashion and new trends. I filed the legal paperwork needed and I was all ready to get started, but then fear took hold of me. I realized my only problem was me.
“I knew that I wanted sophisticated, elegant, and impeccable pieces that I can sell to represent The Fashion Knot. It wasn’t long before I found a few good vendors in the fashion district that were offering to work with me.
“I started small by ordering samples and having my friends and family vote on the Irene that I should purchase in bulk. Once the selection was made then I had to get photography and the website graphics made,” she added
Francoise is also the founder of the BlackLovePage.com, a cultural website celebrating black excellence and black love. She’s also an author who has published four books about poetry and self help. She has held a lot of events and has done a lot in controlling the narrative about black love and black excellence.
She gives back by sharing to help bring awareness to stories of those in need, campaigns, and support groups all over the world.
Francoise is also the Social Media Manager for the Kodjoe Family Foundation where she contributes to their work in spreading awareness about spina bifida.
