Super Eagles and Udinese defender, William Troost-Ekong is on the move to join Watford.
Gazzetta dello Sport reports that Ekong has already said farewell to his Udinese teammates and will join the Hornets’ to push for automatic promotion back to the English Premier League.
Watford suffered relegation to the English Championship last season after ending the campaign in 19th spot, following a run of three straight defeats in the final three match days.
They’ve started their pursuit of top-flight football with a win and draw from their first two matches of the 2020/21 season.
Troost-Ekong joined Udinese from Turkish Super Lig club Bursaspor in 2018. The well-traveled centre-back has played professionally in Netherlands (his place of birth), Norway, Belgium, Turkey and Italy while he spent time in both Fulham and Tottenham Hotspur’s academy.
The 27-year-old has been capped 39 times by the Super Eagles since making his debut five years ago.
