The leader of a four-man robbery gang that had been terrorizing Akure and its environs, Banji Adu, has narrated how he and his robbery gang killed a Point of Sales lady, Adetutu, in the state.
The 24-year-old kingpin said his gang killed the lady in her shop because she refused to give them money on time.
He made the revelation to journalists at the Police Headquarters along Igbatoro road, Akure, the state capital when he and other 11 suspects were paraded by the Ondo State Commissioner of Police, Bolaji Salami.
Adu said, “When my gang members and I got to the PoS shop of late Miss Adetutu, she refused to give us money on time and I put the trigger on her and I killed her and we made away with her money.
“We went round to other places like Obioma restaurant and robbed her of N150,000. And we also proceeded to Rano filling Station and robbed them of their money.’’
On how they were nabbed, the suspect said they were arrested through CCTV Camera that was placed in one of the places they had robbed.
“We never knew there was a camera installed. As we left the place, we got to a PoS operative who did not give us money on time.
“I was the one that pulled the trigger on her and collected the cash on her,” he said.
While parading the 12 suspects arrested for various offences ranging from murder, armed robbery, rape, shop breaking and vandalism of government property, the Police boss, Mr. Bolaji Salami told newsmen that the suspects were nabbed in various locations across the state.
He said two suspects: Olanrewaju and Igbekele Ajenode with others still at large who allegedly gang raped a lady were arrested by the police detective who acted on information.
