Women in Osun State yesterday converged on the state government house for inter -religious prayer for peace and security in the country.
Prayer sessions from various religious groups were held including lectures delivered by frontline women leaders, Mrs Remi Wilson and Alhaja Latifat Kolawole.
Speaking, the wife of Osun State governor who is also the organiser of the programme, Mrs Kafayat Oyetola noted that the prayer session was organised to tackle the challenge of insecurity that has assumed various dimensions in the country.
According to her, the decision to organise the national prayers in all the states of the federation was taken at the Nigerian Governors Wives Forum (NGWF) having observed the dangerous dimensions insecurity has reached in the nation.
She challenged women to go back to their homes and entrench values, love and virtue of humanity in their household.
Her words: “However, the intervention will require that we work. We must start from our homes. Let’s change the culture that places money as the ultimate value of a relationship.
“Let us enthrone virtue, let us enthrone love, let us bring back the virtue of humanity that our great grandparents handed down to us”.
