This week’s edition of CNN International magazine programme, African Voices, sponsored  by  Globacom, profiles the change agents on the African continent.

Programme sponsors, Globacom said in Lagos on Friday that the edition, themed “Change Makers”, would feature the Founder of African Leadership Academy, Fred Swaniker, and Nigeria’s Ugo Udezue, who is the Chief Executive Officer of Africa Basketball League (ABL).

The duo of Swaniker and Udezue are among outstanding Africans, who share dreams for a better world and better future. “These individuals are shaking up the status quo and simultaneously empowering their fellow countrymen,” CNN stated.

The 37-year-old Udezue was born in Enugu State, Nigeria. As a former basketball international, he played with Wyoming in the United States. He sees basketball as more than a game, and has made it a personal mission to build a sports empire from scratch. On the programme, he is expected to reveal to viewers about his goal “to provide a safe and socially conducive entertaining environment with basketball as the epicenter” as well as his hopes that the ABL which he co-founded will ”unite Africans through sports.”

The second guest, Swaniker, is a Ghanaian entrepreneur and leadership development expert, who has launched five organizations aimed at developing leaders, primarily in Africa. He is expected to discuss his pet project, the African Leadership Academy, whose objective is to develop 6,000 transformative leaders for Africa over a 50-year period.

African Voices airs on CNN International at 10.30 a.m. on Fridays. It is repeated at 2.30 p.m. on Saturdays, 12.30 a.m. and 7.30 p.m. on Sundays. Viewers can also watch the show on Mondays at 11:30 p.m. and on Tuesdays at 5.30 a.m.
